A Brief List Of Things Charlie Kirk Said

To honor the first anniversary of the passing of Mr. Kirk--thoughts and prayers--a few choice quotes:

"Gay people should be stoned to death"

"Vaccine requirements are 'medical apartheid'"

"Religious freedom should be terminated"

"MLK Jr was an 'awful person'"

"Most people are scared when they see a black pilot flying a plane"

"The 1964 Civil Rights Act was a 'huge mistake'"

"Women's natural place is under their husband's control"

"George Floyd had it coming, the January 6th protestors didn't"

"Parents should prevent their daughters from taking birth control"

"Palestine 'doesn't exist' and those who support it are like the KKK"

"The Great Replacement Theory is reality"

"Hydroxychloroquine cures COVID"

"British Colonialism was what 'made the world decent'"

"Multiple black politicians 'stole white people's spots'"

And, finally, my personal favorite,

"Gun deaths are acceptable in order to have a Second Amendment"

Don Burt, who founded this blog "all those years ago", passed away last month.

We met over 40 years ago, doing a play at what was then the Phoenix Little Theatre.

40 years, and as many of you of a certain age will understand, it went by in the blink of an eye.

Don was interested in many things, especially passionate about politics, exceptionally well read, and had an unforgettable laugh.

In his later years he was hounded by physical ailments, but he never lost his curiosity about life, in all of its many manifestations.

R.I.P. old friend.
